10-inch and 8-inch Acer Aspire One Compared

If you’ve been planning to buy an Acer Aspire One unit but couldn’t decide whether to get the 8.9-inch or the 10-.1 inch version, then Portable Monkey’s article comparing the two netbooks might help you decide which one to get. If you might be aware, both Acer Aspire Ones are exactly the same in specs and features except for their size.
Both the 10.1-inch and 8.9-inch Acer Aspire One’s standard features include an Intel Atom N280 processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, WiFi, and Windows XP Home OS. Both netbook also have 3-cell batteries.
You may head over to Portable Monkey to read the full comparison or check out the most intereating differences between the two netbooks listed below:
- while both netbooks have the same 3-cell battery, the 10.1-inch AAO however has a longer battery life. Suffice to say that it consumes less energy than the smaller unit?
- brushed metal casing for the 10-inch model as compared to the 8.9-inch plastic casing. The metal finished hides fingerprint marks better.
- the 8.9-inch unit has a better keyboard thanks to lesser flex than that of the 10.1-inch unit
- louder speaker for the 10.1-inch
- lesser annoying noise in the 10.1-inch
- better touchpad for the 10.1 with the standard two button design.
So, if you are to buy an Acer Aspire One, which would you rather get?
