I was left out in the cold after buying a EeePC 900 in May when it was replaced by
the 901. I am confused by the various comments on a processor upgrade. The
mother board can be clocked to 1.6 Mz so what is required to ramp up the clock
speed for a processor upgrade. Does this require a mod to the mother board or will
the early bios do the trick. I hope somebody here can shed some light on it. Clearly
there is no support from Asus in this matter. Another issue is the heat. Will this be a
significant factor on such a upgrade.
Any way I leave it here. Yours sharpy.

Wow! I think I would do the same if I have one. Celeron is just to slow for a notebook computer. I had some bad experiences with the processor. I think Asus installed Celeron just to make it cheaper but I do believe it’s capable of handling higher than that.
