TG Averatec Tablet PCs coming in the first half of 2010

Lookie lookie here. Somewhere in Korea TG Sambo has launched a new laptop under it Averatec branding. Make no mistake, there is certainly no doubt in our minds that this is another netbook confused of its identity. It's certainly you usual laptop only sporting a tiny and ultra-light form factor.

Let's see what's this Averatec Lookie is made of inside - Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 250GB HDD, HDMI port, Windows 7 and 6 hours battery life. Looks like a powerful laptop indeed, right?

What's so interesitng about this laptop is its thin form factor at only 0.5cm. It beats the Adamo XPS, one of the thinnest known laptop in town. The Averatec Lookie laptop is lightweight as well at 1.4kg.

There's just one thing that is not light and thin with this laptop, and that's got to be its price - something around $711.

Tiny Averatec Lookie Notebook Launched in Korea

So, while everybody else are starting to announce their new Pine Trail netbooks, here come Averatec announcing the release of its newest laptop - the HS-105 Xmas edition.

No, it doesn't have the Pine Trail CPU yet, but just a redesigned version of the HS-105 netbook released previously but now donning a Christmas theme.

Specs-wise, here's what you're going to get - Intel Atem N270 1.6GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM, Intel 945GSE, 10.1-inch LCD with a 1024x600 resolution with LED backlight, 160 GB or 250 GB HDD, WiFi BGN and 1.3 MP web camera.

Averatec’s Christmas Gift to the Netbook Market – HS 105

Averatec is not among those who really got famous because of their netbook products. In fact, they hardly make it into the mainstead. But this won't stop the company from releasing some more netbooks in the wild.  One of them is the new Averated Buddy HS-102.

Again, nothing to get excited about the HS-102 as it is your standard netbook flavor packing an Intel Atom N270 CPU 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM, Mobile Intel GMA950 video chipset, 160GB of HDD, WiFi AGN, 1.3MP camera, 10.1-inch LCD wiht LED backlight (1024x600).

One good thing about the Averatec HS-102 is its handsome look and design.  Hopefully it's price will not be as handsome though.

Averatec’s New Buddy Netbook, HS-102 Shows Up in Korea

Avertec are to release their newest netbook model sometime in August or September. No specifications as such have been released other than it'll be a 10 inch netbook. Tae Hyun Cho, CEO for Averatec also revealed that the operating system chose is going to be a surprise. Does this hint that it could come installed with Android? While Cho didn't say it was going to be Android, he didn't deny it either. He did say that it would be a "a merger of cell phone and PC technology."

The Android operating system so far seems successful with several big name netbook companies like MSI, Asus and HP, stating they're experimenting with the Android platform. While Skytone are to release a netbook within the next 3 months using Android.

Could Averatec’s next netbook come with Android?

If you're looking for a netbook which is not produced by any of the top brands which we often see coming into the U.S. market, the best place to look around is possibly Japan, well Taiwan as well.  But anyway, Akihabara News is reporting two separate netbooks which just surfaced in the Japanese PC market. These are the Averatec AVN0270NB from Trigem and the Kohjinsha ML6 netbook.

There's nothing really fascinating about these netbooks that we should all be excited about. Both are your standard netbooks in their respective categories.

The Kohjinsha ML6 L16A netbook is an upgrade of the previously released ML6 netbook. It boasts of an 8.9-inch screen, Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz) CPU, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, WiFi and all the standard netbook stuff. It will be available in 6 different colors namely, black, white, champagne, blue, pink and bordeaux. No word on the price of this netbook is available though.

Meanwhile, the Trigem AVN0270NB is a 10-inch netbook with Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Intel 945GMS chipset, WiFi and a 5 hour battery life. It will be sold in Japan for around 340 Euro.

So unless you live in Japan or have some contacts there, you're only hope in getting this netbooks is to wait until Trigem and Kojinsha decides to release it internationally.

Two New Netbooks Released in Japan

One of  flaws of netbooks is the absence of an integrated DVD player/burner. This is understable given the size of the even the biggest netbooks available in the market now.  So for those whose in need of a DVD drive to accompany their netbooks, their best bet is to get a separate DVD Burner.

Each of these MSI Clones sport different names on each of the country. And so far, the most popular of them is the Medion Akoya Mini which was released in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, France and Ireland.

MSI Wind’s Got 18 Clones Worldwide

Words on the street (and we mean Electronista) are saying that Averatec is set to bring its Buddy Netbook to US shore soon. In fact, it has already launched the said netbook, although it is still not showing on Averatec's online store.

If you would recall, Averatec's Buddy Netbook went on sale in Korea earlier this month. Dubbed Buddy HS-103, said netbook was selling for around $588. It comes with the usual netbook standard Atom processor, Windows XP, 1GB of RAM, 10.2-inch AveraBrite LCD plus other features which we usually see in other netbooks.

During it's launch in the Korean market, Averatec's Buddy Netbook was packed with an 80GB HDD. But for its American version, Averatec has increased the HDD capacity into a whooping 160GB. Now here's the best part, the Buddy Netbook's SRP was brought down to $450. Possibly because Averatec realized that the original price in Korea was way too high from the netbook's competitors.

Now words yet on when the Buddy netbook will be released though.
