A Pocket-Friendly i-Tab From Intex Releases in India

Intex is introducing the i-Tab, a new Android tablet created for young urban professionals in India.

The device joins the group of recent budget tablets that all have price tags under Rs. 15,000: the very popular Aakash tablet, and a just-launched ICS tablet from Zync.

The Intex i-Tab features a 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor running alongside 512 MB of RAM and an 8GB storage capacity. Its memory is expandable up to 32 GB via an SD card. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is its operating system.

Its capacitive two-point touchscreen measures 8 inches diagonally, although there are plans for releasing other sizes of the tablet, such as 7- and 10-inch models. Wi-Fi, GPS, and a USB port are the connectivity options available to users.

Also, a 3G USB dongle is also supported by the i-Tab. For video chat fans, the device also offers a front facing VGA camera. There is also a 360 degree G-sensor. Several apps have also been preloaded on the device, saving users time and effort.

The tablet gets is power from a 5000mAh battery, promising a battery life of 5 to 6 hours. Its weight is approximately 475 grams.

The i-Tab has a price of Rs.11,900 and is available in over 15,000 stores across India.
