Bought the D250 at Walmart and havie been using it for two weeks. I was leary of the limitations of this small computer, but I have nothing but rave reviews. I invested in this out of desperation. My regular laptop, a Toshiba Satellite M305, died after 7 months of use. Of course this happened while my work laptop was also out of commision and my husband and son were out of town. While both laptops are under warranty, I was desperate to finish a critical project and was stuck at home with pneumonia. At midnight on a Sunday, I dragged myself to the all-night Walmart, and bought the cheapest PC they had. I couldn't find an optical drive on the shelves, so I wasn't sure I could load MS Word. I never impulse shop for larger items, but the fever must have altered my personality.

Coming from using a 14.1" laptop with 4GB of RAM, I figured I'd be lucky to get this to run MS Word at a snail's pace. What a wonderful surprise to find that I had a 60 day trial of MS Office Professional 2007, readily available for online download. No optical drive needed, which was a lucky break. Within ten minutes I was setup and ready to go.

The screen is amazingly viewable, with easy zoom capabilities. The keyboard is just right, and I think it would work for guys with larger hand. What about performance? I have had 15 Internet sessions open at one time, along with Word, Excel and Powerpoint and the Aspire One can handle it. Obviously, the fewer the resources open the better it performs. For $298, I even got a Webcam optimized for low-light video chatting. Now, if only my friends and I would start using this mode of communication!

The only things I would change: 6 cell instead of 3 cell battery, and 2 GB RAM in lieu of 1 GB. Both of these are fixable, but it would have been nice to have had the option of buying it as a complete package.

I wouldn't return this laptop for anything, which I sheepishly admit was in the back of my mind when I purchased it. It's light, performs well and is a super buy. And, thanks to Walmart, I could buy it in the middle of the night.

If you are considering this Netbook and have questions, I'd be glad to try to answer them. BTW, mine is red, and I love it! I think the other color choices were black and blue (very nice), but there may have been one more. The 150 model was available in white at the same price.
