Acer Expects for 25%-35% of Total Ultrabook Shipments in 2012
Acer is hopeful for its new products this 2012. The company, which is currently among the top five sellers of personal computers in the world, is currently preparing several second-generation models of its Ultrabook line for the second quarter of this year. In addition to this, more models are set to be launched during the third quarter of 2012. Several of these notebooks have already been previewed in this year’s technological tradeshow, CES held in the United States.
The people behind Acer believe that these new releases will make up about 25 to 35 percent of their total shipments this year. Said figures have basis, too, when one looks at the figures for their sales just this year. About 250,000 up to 300,000 units of Acer Aspire S3, for example, have been sold during the first quarter of this year after its launch. The company predicts even better figures for the new Acer Aspire S5 tablet PC.
Acer is likewise counting on markets such as the Philippines, Thailand, Brazil, and other countries in Southeast Asia to add to these figures, as they have been receiving strong sales reports from these regions. As for the European market, however, the company is still unsure.
