Acer Iconia Tab gets Android 3.2 Update
The highly popular tablet device from Acer – the Iconia Tab A500/A501 was speedy to get the Android 3.1 update and now, before any of the users could ask for anything more – Acer has gone on to announce that an update to Android 3.2 is made available over the air (OTA). The latest update is most welcome and all the Iconia Tab users are seriously encouraged to try this new version of the ever-increasing popular Android platform. Android 2.3 brings app scaling, which allows apps primarily designed for mobile phones to be scaled properly to fit the tablet screen device. The new update also allows syncing media from the SD card, besides bringing a range of small optimizations across the whole operating system.
The Acer Iconia Tab has been a highly appreciated tablet device that flaunts a 10.1 inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels. The CPU is a dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, combined with ULP GeForce GPU and Tegra 2 T20 chipset. The devices also sports two cameras – a more than sufficient 5 megapixel camera for primary photo taking purposes and a secondary 2 megapixel camera for video calling. Other standard features are also present, such as – multi-touch capability, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gyrosensor, GPS, bluetooth, etc. It is mentionable here to point out the fact that the Acer Iconia Tab does not support GSM voice communication, SMS and MMS capabilities. Still, it more than makes up for it with its other superb features and comes across as an extremely desirable device.
The device at first launched with Android 3.0 but soon got updated to Android 3.1 and now before long, Acer is teasing us with an Android 3.2 update. It is still not clear which regions are getting the update, with the only confirmation coming from the Poland region.
