Amazon is Now Accepting Pre-Orders for the Eee PC 900 with Atom Processor, SRP $399.99
Posted in: 9inch, eee pc 900Amazon made a rather confusing product listing for the Eee PC 900/901. If you will take a look at the image, the headline says its the Eee PC 900. But if you will take a closer look at the product specs, it was actually referring to the Eee PC 901. Even the listed price of $399 is not the published price of the Eee PC 901.
The question is, should you order this model, would you really get the Eee PC 901 or the Eee PC 900? Would these be enough grounds to trick Amazon into getting an Eee PC 901 for the price of the Eee PC 900?
Any risk takers out there who want to try this out? We would be glad to report how it would turn out. :-)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the 900 had the Celeron processor and the 901 used the Atom processor? Is this just a mistype in the model number or has Asus pulled another switch-a-roo?
Recall all the varieties of the 700/701 they shipped?
G.
Look down in the product listing. It says “INTEL MOBILE CPU.” Now check the 901 or 1000 and you see “INTEL ATOM CPU.” So you’ll be buying a celeron-M model, all that has changed is the size of the HD. Wish I knew how that change was though — is this just removing the (fast) 4 gig soldered disk and leaving the slow 16 gig disk from the Linux 900’s?
