Amazon to launch Kindle Fire 2 August 7th?

Yesterday we heard reports that Amazon were going to hold a special event at the end of the month, where they would announce the successor to the Kindle Fire in the form of the Kindle Fire 2 which will also feature a 7 inch display, as well as possibly announcing a 10 inch tablet. There are now reports surfacing that point to the Kindle Fire 2 being released as early as August 7th, which is only a month away.
Production of the Kindle Fire 2 has according to the China Times has been increased and 2 million unites are expected to be ready by August 7th. The Kindle Fire 2 is being manufactured by Quanta Computer, a Taiwanese manufacturer. Other reports suggest that the Kindle Fire 2 will have a metal chassis frame. We’re also hearing reports that Amazon are using a different supplier for the battery. A couple of details that have surfaced is that the Kindle Fire 2 will run Ice Cream Sandwich, come with a microUSB port and a home button.
