Amtek Elego is one of those ultraportable PC that debuts during the Computex in Taiwan which never received second attention after the show. Maybe because of its ugly design, or perhaps because of its not-so-catchy name. Anyway, since we don’t discriminate when it comes to featuring ultraportable machines here at Eee PC Blog (and because it’s sunday evening!), here we are, putting the spotlight on Amtek’s Elego ultraportable.
In case you’re wondering who/what is Amtek, well apparently they have been manufacturing Tablet PCs in Taiwain. While visiting Amtek’s Taiwanese site, we couldn’t find an entry for the Elego, but instead found some entries for several Tablet PCs. Why? Is Amtek too shy to display its own product?
Anyway, here’s the rundown of the Amtek Elego:
- 8.9 inch 1024 x 600 pixel display
- 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU
- 256MB to 1GB RAM
- 2GB or 4GB SSD or a standard hard drive
- 4 USB 2.0 ports
- WI-Fi (802.11b/g)
- 1.3 or 0.3 megapixels webcam
- 9.2 x 7 x 1-1.3 inches
- 2.1 pounds
The Amtek Elego sports a yellow with black lining design. And words on the street indicates that it is hitting the US market anytime soon.
