Android 4.0 for Motorola Xoom rolling out in Europe

Over in America, Motorola have rolled out the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update to Wi-Fi only Xooms, while the 3G model is still awaiting the update, as is pretty much the rest of the world. Motorola have changed that though, for some any way. According to a post over on the official Motorola Facebook page, the ICS update has “begun rolling out to Motorola Xoom owners in select markets in Europe”. While that offers a glimmer of hope for Xoom owners, Motorola haven’t specified when each market will receive the update and more crucially, Motorola haven’t given any information on which European markets will be receiving the update.
For those who will be getting the update, it will be available OTA (Over-the-Air) so it’s advisable to check manually for a software update. Comment reports from Android Authority suggest that there isn’t an update for the UK or Ireland (yet) but, a user in Austria has successfully downloaded ICS and installed the software. Let us know in the comments if the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update has been rolled out to you yet for your Xoom and which country you’re in.
