Another LCD Ebook Reader: GM2000

Gemei, a China-based tech company, is all set to release their first e-book reader, the GM2000. Following in the footsteps of some other companies, they are eschewing the traditional e-ink display and are going to use an LCD display instead. It maybe a bit detrimental to long-term reading, but LCDs are proving to be a popular choice in e-reader displays because of the increasing functionality brought by these tablet-like devices. Most e-book readers now support video and audio playback and minimal Internet browsing capability and a color screen helps in this a lot. The GM2000 may be utilizing one or more of these features.
Right now, however, the only solid info we have on the product is that it has four buttons and has a unique input device in the form of a pen. Nothing yet on a release date or a price, but it’ll be soon and, considering it’s from China, it will be cheap.
