As anticipation grows stronger for the upcoming 8.9 inch Eee PC model, Asus continues to make sure that the new Eee PC model are produced at the most diversified cost for the company.
Although the 8.9 inch prototype that Asus displayed during this year’s CeBIT in bears the AUO and CPT made panels, Asus has not yet chosen a primary supplier. Industry players are saying that both panel makers might likely get orders from Asus.None other than SC Lin, VP of small to medium size TFT business of CPT hinted that their 8.9 inch panels are already for customer validation and that they are slated to start volume production of the panels by June.Asus has not yet issued an official announcement on who is going to supply the 8.9 inch Eee PC panel.

They should check the quality of it and not just the cost or else they might suffer losses if the low quality screens failed like what happened to Nokia’s BL-5C batteries. They chose a cheaper manufacturer but the battery overheats. Nokia ended changing these batteries which of course is a huge loss.
