Asian Netbook Manufacturers Competes in the U.S. Market

With the affordable prices being offered by Asia netbook manufacturers, it’s not surprising that they have gain grounds in U.S. market quite considerably.  Asia-based Acer, Asustek, Micro-Star and Samsung Electronics have successfully penetrated and are now competing in the U.S. market, thanks to the low prices of their netbooks.

In fact, Acer and Asustek have reduced the prices of their 10.1-inch netbook to about $249 while MSI and Samsung reduced their netbooks’ price to below $300. These price reduction was particularly evident during the previous Holiday Season sale in the U.S.

At this early, Acer is expecting to ship more than 10 million units of netbooks this year while Samsung and Asustek which  have already shipped around 500,000 units of netbooks in November  are expecting even more number by the end of December.

HP on the other hand has shipped about 600,000 netbooks November.

Will this trend continue to 2010? Especially with new netbooks which don’t seem to be released at a high price?  It looks like it’s going to be another exciting year for netbooks.
