Asus 1201N and UL20A have interchangeable batteries

While many consumers won’t have the option of having both the 12.1 inch notebook from Asus, the 1201N and the CULV powered UL20A to swap the batteries over, if you’re looking for longer life from your netbook, this tip may help you. One complaint Brad had with the CULV powered Asus UL20A is that, the battery wasn’t that powerful, compared to that of the more expensive UL30A. The UL20A ships with a 4400mAh battery and the UL30A, a 5600mAh battery, as does the Eee PC 1201N.

Brad discovered, that the 1201N battery, also fits in the UL20A and while it may not provide up to 10 hours battery life, it will last longer than the standard 6 hours. Two UK sites are selling the battery, as well as one US website. It’s also noted that, while the battery is interchangeable, both machines (and batteries) are of a different finish, which may bother some people.
