Asus and Symantec Team Up

Asustek and Symantec Corp. has just reached a multi-year agreement that would bring the Norton Internet Security 2009 software to the Eee PC netbooks and nettops. And to kick off this agreement, Symantec announced that it will be giving a full-featured 60-day introductory subscription of  the software.

In agreeing to the deal, Symantec’s vice president for consumer channels said that they believe that Asus is fully committed to their customers for bringing economical, environment-friendly and fashionable netbooks and nettops. Hence, it is but right that Asus should also think of their users’ welfare by offering the Security Software to protect users from adware, spyware, viruses, worms, spam and other malicious attacks while surfing the web.

Symantec believes that the Eee PC netbooks and nettops users are not mostly tech geeks but also consumers who are not aware of Internet attacks.

Hence, the more reason for Asus to ensure that their users are well protected. That is through Symantec’s easy-to-use and fast security solution.
