The Eee PC T91 has only been recently released and Asus is still weighing how it will perform in the market before coming out with its upgraded version – the Eee PC T101. What was previously announced as a June release for the T101 is now pushed tentatively to September.
This release date however still depends on how Asus’ first touch screen netbook will fare in the PC market. According to Digitimes, if Asus finds that the demand for the Eee PC T91 does not meet Asus’ expectations, the company may reconsider its plans to release other touch screen netbooks. This could also mean that Asus may totally cancel the production of other touch screen netbooks.
So, it all depends really to us consumers if we are going to embrace Asus’ venture into the touch screen netbook market.

I think that Asus made a boneheaded decision by putting in the slower Atom CPU (any by slower, I mean slower than the N270/N280 already in other EEE models). The tablet form factor should have had the same performance as comparable non-tablet models. Reducing the performance on a system already at a lower performance point is a sure way to inhibit sales.
i was ready to bye t91 whit only 1,3ghz but i find out about t101 whit[1,3ghz]or 1,6ghz procesor?[but ofcourse dont want to put n280 procesor...so expensive for asus] n draft tehnologi and 3g and whit gps and tv tunner incorporated and i wait and i wait and i wait……so long…but asus only want to wait for windows7 to make this t101 moore fast…..am decided to buy asus t101 only if its going to have this configuration.n280 procesor, convertible ,wireles abg and ndraft, btu 2.0 ,3g,3.5g,and 802.16 wimax ,tv tunner, gps incorporated, and at least 60gb hard disk.if asus dont make this netbook to be whit this configuration to last ill will not buy t101 .i dont care if my configuration will cost 1000$$.i will pay this .or im going to wait until 2010 to buy a convertible netbook from ather compani that i heard will make whit strong procesor .
I read some reviews of the T91 and decided I’d wait for the newer model so I could take advantage of a bigger screen, faster CPU, and a different OS. I’ve been interested in buying a netbook and have always wanted a tablet so having both together was a great idea to me. I know I’m not the only one waiting for something like this.
I agree with Freddie, they should put a faster hardware since it is tablet pc. Probably many would like to but won’t buy the T91, because they are waiting for the T101. I am one of them, I prefer the 10″. However I live in Brasil, and they didn’t even launched the T91 here yet, so I am thinking on getting a 1005HA now instead.
If ASUS don’t launch a 10″-11″ screen tablet pc, with a (even for a little bit) faster hardware, they will surely lose a nice slice of the market…
I was delighted to see a netbook combined with the tablet pc functions. I will be the perfect upgrade from my HP 1100 TabletPC. But, I am only interested in the t-101 with it’s larger screen and greater capabilities. It’s frustrating to think that I’m dependent on others buying the t-91 for the t-101 to be made available. I’m certainly NOT interested in buying a t-91 in order to increase the likelyhood that they will offer the t-101. Maybe they should just go straight to the t-101 and forget the wimpier version.
