ASUS Eee Pad MeMO 171 Goes Live
A new tablet called the Eee Pad MeMO 171 that integrates with a handset will soon be available from Asus. This tablet was previewed as early as last year’s CES but has not been sold to the public.
This year, a model called the Eee Pad MeMO was shown off during CES. The MeMO came equipped with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and had an approximate retail price of $249. On the other hand, the MeMO 171 has a Qualcomm 8260 dual core processor with a 1.2 GHz clock speed.
The MeMO 171 is equipped with a 7-inch LED-backlit WXGA Screen with a 1280 x 800 resolution. This touchscreen has Super IPS+ and 10 finger multi-touch capability. It is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass. It has RAM of 1GB, 16 GB of storage coupled with 8G lifetime ASUS Web storage space allotted for the user.
A unique feature of the tablet is a stylus, which can be used to write or draw on the touchscreen. The stylus is kept in a slot on the front. It also comes with a 1.2 MP Front Camera and a 5 MP Rear camera, stereo speakers, a microphone, and a G-Sensor.
The new Tegra 3 model of the MeMo may have similar specs, although no official announcement has been made by Asus.
