ASUS Eee Pad Slider Receives Android 4.0 Update
Asus is starting to offer Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates in the United States for the Eee Pad Slider according to a recent Twitter update from the Taiwanese company. This coincides with the Ice Cream Sandwich update pushed for the Samsung Galaxy Note.
As per usual, the Asus update is sent over the air (OTA), enabling the Eee Pad Slider to be at par with other Asus tablets which have already gotten Ice Cream Sandwich updates. Among these are the Asus Transformer Prime and the Asus Eee Pad Transformer.
The Android 4.0 update for the Eee Pad Slider is expected to fix several identified bugs on the device, including perhaps the faulty Youtube app. Android 4.0 will also likely enhance the performance of the device. The new apps, widgets, functionalities, and UI brought by the upgrade will also boost the productivity and enjoyment of the tablet’s users.
The Eee Pad Slider runs on a dual-core 1.2 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor with 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage capacity. It also comes with two cameras, a 5 MP at the back and a 1.3 MP at the front. A slide-out QWERTY keyboard facilitates input, while a microSD card slot is available in case there is a need for storage expansion.
