Asus Eee PC 1000h Reviewed and Detailed, “Video’d”
This early, Laptopmag is running a comprehensive review of the new Eee PC 1000h. With a price tag of $649, 10-inch LCD display,1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and 1 GB of RAM, the Eee PC 1000h is a great mini-PC, if only Asus could release it at a lower price.
The review highlighted the Eee PC 1000h’s solid battery life and spacious keyboard, while on the negative side, the review said that the Eee PC 1000h has a larger footprint and of course relatively expensive.
Here are some of the other highlights of the review:
- improved screen real estate
- speakers delivered strong and solid sound
- larger and roomier keyboard
- 45 seconds boot time
- very good batter life
And Laptopmag’s final verdic?
We concluded our review of the Eee PC 901 by saying “with the promise of the 10-inch Eee PC 1000 and Eee PC 1000H just around the corner, some may want to play the waiting game.” And we were right. Those looking for a larger mini-notebook with a good sized screen and a spacious keyboard will find nearly everything they are looking for. However, the similarly configured MSI Wind NB offers comparable performance and endurance for $150 less, although some will prefer the 1000H’s slick aesthetics. We like the Eee PC 1000H, but we’ll like it a lot more if the final pricing for the system winds up being less.
