But why - why the color restriction to black and blue? The greasy fingerprint black and the blue seem like a nonsense restriction for U.S. distribution. A skin can cover the lid but a white or beige or pink case color is very desirable, and makes me wonder when a research group will reveal that many U.S. users selected the "generic netbook" based on the available colors.
Regardless of the color I think the 1000HE will be a major player during 2009, if they can reach the distribution chain by the end of February. It would help if there was a Linux option based on uBuntu. I don' t think MS will be able to sell a stepped down Win 7 before 2010, and that will be too late. Looks like the other big impact will be more losses for MS.
The option of going Apple OS X seems to be very attractive. With current pricing I am almost inclined to buy both the 1000HE and a copy of OS X, before tax time. I would wonder why not more support from Apple, or maybe they are only a hardware company, after all?
So here I sit waiting for the UPS truck!

This 1000HE is an amazing response to user input with a new keyboard, longer battery life and updated processor.
