Asus Eee PC 1008P selling with two batteries?
Here’s something you don’t see everyday. EeePC.it is reporting that you can get the Asus EeePC 1008P (you know, the Karim Rashid one) with two batteries. We previously stated that it has a single 3-cell battery that runs pretty good at 5.5 hours worth of life. The problem is that most other netbooks now pack 10 hours or more life making the designer netbook a bit obsolete.
Asus has taken stock of this and released a version that packs 2 x 3-cell batteries, each worth 6 hours of battery life. You can replace the battery by removing a camouflaged panel and slipping out the bare battery cell. In my opinion, they should have made it a bigger cell battery right at the start since most users don’t want to take the trouble of shutting off their computer just to replace a battery.
