Well it looks like the Asus Eee PC 900 is sporting two SSD’s. If you remember, the Eee PC900 is being offered with two options for OS, either Linux or Windows XP.
According to JKKMobile, the Windows XP version has an 8GB SSD soldered to the Eee PC900’s motherboard, which holds the Windows OS installation. Then another 8GB SSD is available through the PCIE Slot which will hold most of the working files and other applications.
The Linux version also sports the same two SSDs. An 8GB SSD is soldered on the motherboard and another 16GB SSD is available through the PCIE slot.
While this may look confusing to some, tech users can easily upgrade SSDs if they require more for the OS or for the files.

The Linux version eee PC 900 has a 4 Gb soldered SSD and you have to install operating system in that drive. That´s not enough for Windows XP running properly! I need an upgrade for that 4Gb soldered SSD!
You are referring to the “900A”, not the “900″. You can still upgrade the SSD on the 900A. To the best of my knowledge, the 900A’s SSD is *not* soldered to the motherboard. At least, mine is not. I’m getting ready to drop in a 64GB or 128GB SSD so that I can install Windows 7. Hope this helps. AJ
