Jaime mentioned a soldered SSD. AJ responded and said the SSD isn't soldered. Is it or is it not. AJ's isn't but that doesn't answer the actual question. Are the SSDs soldered and if that is so, are there any upgrade options in that model of the eeepc900? And which model EXACTLY has the soldered on SSD?

You are referring to the "900A", not the "900". You can still upgrade the SSD on the 900A. To the best of my knowledge, the 900A's SSD is *not* soldered to the motherboard. At least, mine is not. I'm getting ready to drop in a 64GB or 128GB SSD so that I can install Windows 7. Hope this helps. AJ

The Linux version eee PC 900 has a 4 Gb soldered SSD and you have to install operating system in that drive. That´s not enough for Windows XP running properly! I need an upgrade for that 4Gb soldered SSD!
