ASUS Eee PC 900A now $299

JkOnTheRun received a tip from Pereira about a netbook retailing at under $300 and it isn’t the touchscreen Asus Eee PC, due to come out next year, either.

The model on offer is the Asus Eee PC 900A which is set to retail for $299 at Best Buy stores. That’s a great reduction off the original launch price of $465 in August.

However, with just a 4GB SSD, it could be worth waiting to see if the Eee PC 701SDX will come fitted with a 4GB or 8GB for the same $300 price tag before making a purchase. If you can’t wait for news on the 701SDX though and you’re looking for a cheap netbook, it seems most stores have them in stock, for now.

    The local Target stores are also now displaying a 900A in both black and white for $299 along with a variety of Belkin sleeves and other accessories.

    Now if I can just catch one on clearance a few months from now… :-)

    Clearance or BLACK FRIDAY! What a great draw low priced eee pcs could be! Personally, the 900A seems overpriced even at $299, that is, assuming Asus really does release the HA for $349. (That last sentence was hyperbole…I hope. With eBay sellers claiming to have them and Amazon having them for preorder and available from an associate, I’m expecting the mainstream sellers to have them Real Soon Now.)
