Asus launched a linux-less model of Asus EEE PC in Japan. This machine comes with pre-installed Microsoft Windows XP instead of Linux.

In Japanese market, this model is called Asus EEE 701 aka 4G-X (instead of 4G).

The configuration of this bonzai laptop is

  •   4GB Storage
  • 512MB DDR 2 Memory
  •  7 inch 800X480 Display
  • 3 USB 2.0 Ports
  • 0.3 MegaPixel Camera
  • SDHC Memory Card Reader
  • 10/100 Mb/s  Ethernet
  • 802.11b/g Wi-Fi

This model comes with Intel M processor 900MHz.  EEE PCs usually runs on 600 MHz with Windows XP. Asus also provides 4GB SDHC Memory card. This makes the total memory 8GB.

4G-X will cost around ¥50,000( $468).
