[...] Eee PC 1000 and 1000h - Both these models were not expected to happen until Asustek got threatened by the launch of rival MSI Wind which looks to be a promising and more powerful alternative to the Eee PC 900. So, Asustek went ahead and launched their 10-inch baby equipped with the Atom processor, Bluetooth, 6 hours battery life, and a 40GB SSD for the 1000 and 80GB Hard Drive for the 1000h.
1024x600 is enough on a 10.2 screen, if you are using windows everything gets to small otherwise.

I would have liked a bigger resolution on the 1000, if that page is to be believed it is the same as the 900, 1024x600.

Hmm, hopefully the EeePC 1000 has WiMAX too, if so, I am SOLD... I just hope its under $700 >_>.... Bigger screen, bigger keyboard, long battery life, bigger ssd, more processor power, bluetooth, wifi a-to-n, possibly wimax, LINUX, good speakers (apparently -- and hopefully), and its still light, compact, and small... Perhaps it'll be easy to modify and change the resolution on the 10inch... Exactly what i was looking for all these years. Asus has answered my call!!!

A 40GB SSD should be more expensive than a 80GB HDD, but I think that a SSD-drive is much better for the EEE PCs as the dont require as much power as HDDs so we'll get longer battery-life.
