You’d know when something is so popular when you keep on hearing rumors about it or even better when leaked photos start circulating on the web. But we are not sure whether this is a “rumor” or is actually true since the source cited an authoritative figure.
We’re talking about this item run by Current.com.au, announcing that Asustek is planning evolving the Eee PC into a non-clamshell touchscreen-only device. The source who was Asus Australia national retail manager, Emmanuele Silanesu, even said that this would be announce in the coming Computex Show in Taipei, on June 3.
Silanesu also hinted that the new “Asus tablet PC” may not longer be branded as an Eee PC due to the change in usage, and possibly form.
So, aside from the Eee PC Box, and the Atom-powered Eee PC 901, it looks like Asustek has many things up on its sleeves to last until the end of the year.
Computex is just around the corner. Expect the rumors to heighten as the final date approaches. Of course we will keep you posted on this.
