So, this might be Asustek grand plan in trying to push the sales of the Eee PC 900 now that its brother the Eee PC 901 is set to come out. According to report, Asus has launched a new programme that would push the use of the Eee PC 900 to schools.
The programme dubbed as the Lighthouse would give schools who will buy a minimum of 30 units of the Eee PC 900, a $10 dollar cash back per unit of the Eee PC 900. In addition, Asus is also working with its software partners to get discounted prices for softwares for schools along with other infrastructure issues and professional development.
“The philosophy is to get schools more aware of the Asus brand. The product is so ideal for the school environment, we want to help them make the investment,” said Wendy Wood retail account manager of Asus.
The said roadshows were held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and also included a Windows Live demonstration by Microsoft.
