ASUS Padfone With Matroska To Introduce at MWC 2012
The tablet and smartphone hybrid from Asus called the PadFone tablet has just gotten a redesign that will have its debut in this year’s Mobile World Congress in Spain.
To tease audiences, Asus has released a clip comparing the new Padfone with the Matroska, the popular doll that carries a doll within another doll. Among its memorable claims in the clip are are “1+1+1=Endless possibilities” and “Divided we stand, together we rock.”
Before the PadFone tablet is unveiled, however, no one can tell what Asus has in store for the new device. However, several expectations are floating around.
In addition to the smartphone and tablet, this device might also come equipped with the Tranformer Prime’s TF201 dock. This means that the new hybrid will essentially be a tablet, a notebook, and a handset combined by an integrated hardware and software set. This will allow all three devices to share data and shift from one to another in a seamless fashion.
The tablet is expected to have a 10.10-inch screen, 5 MP rear snapper and a 2 MP front shooter. It also has a microSD card slot. Meanwhile, the smartphone has a 4.3-inch display and may be charged on the tablet while it is in the docking position.
The Asus Padfone has been generating interest since it was revealed in 2011. Now, at the MWC in Barcelona, fans of Asus products may finally get a first glimpse at this possibly revolutionary device.
