Asus’ other netbook (not) which takes most of the innards of the Eee PC S101 – the 12.1-inch display is now available in the Taiwanese market, Fudzilla reports. If you will recall, this notebook was previewed during the CEbit earlier this year. During that time, Asus announced that this was not going to be a part of the Eee PC family. Primarily because of its 12.1-inch display.
But inside the S121 are features and specs which are similar to the Eee PC S101. These include a 1.33 GHz Atom Z520 CPU, a US15W chipset, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD with options to upgrade up to 250GB. Other features of this notebook include WiFi, Bluetooth and USB ports. This notebook also got a 4-cell battery which Asus says could last up to 8H usage. Although this might mean the notebook in idle mode.
The Asus S121 is available now in Taiwan for around $799.
