Asus releasing three EEE branded PCs – EEE is a family now

After the cheapest laptop, Asus is going to release three more computers in the brand name of EEE PC. The touchscreen EEE’s are abandoned for now. The list includes a cheap desktop pc, an iMac competitor and a TV with inbuilt computer. These computers were announced by Asus’s president Jerry Shen on wednesday.

The cheap desktop pc(E-DT) will be released with Intel’s Celeron processor which will cost $200-$300 approx. without a monitor. The near future platform is foreseen as Shelton’08.

iMac’s competitor, the E-Monitor is based on Shelton’08 platform will be released with the screen size of 19-21 inches. More detailed specifications are not revealed yet. This computer system is going to be released in september with a price tag of US$499, which is half the price of competitiors iMac and Dell XPS One.

E-TV will be launched in september with price tag of US$200. The screen size will be standard 42 inch. No other specifications are added yet.
