Asus reveal Eee Pad in development

Move over iPad, Asus have revealed they are developing a tablet/slate to compete against the recently announced Apple iPad. In an interview, Eric Chen, Asus’ Corporate Vice President was asked if Asus had any plans to release a tablet, like the iPad, to which he replied, that yes, they do, the Eee Pad. The Eee Pad will feature a 3G connection and have an ARM processor and powered by Nvidia Tegra 2. He wasn’t forthcoming about other details though, such as other specs, or release date but, it’s one to keep an eye on. When it is launched, hopefully the price point will be reasonable as, UK Marketing Manager at Asus, John Swatton has said “We want to be able to offer our consumers that ideal combination of price, specification, functionality and performance [with the Eee Pad].”
