Asus Ships more Transformer Prime Tablets in January

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is the first tablet with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. This 10 inch Android tablet also has 1GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage, and a 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display. Customers can pick up an optional keyboard dock that turns this tablet into an Android laptop, which also helps conserve battery life.

Sadly, while there’s a high demand for this tablet, the Transformer is a little scarce this holiday season. Since ASUS announced that it has started shipping the tablet to folks who have made their pre-orders, most stores are still running out of stock. Nonetheless, ASUS said that the company will have more inventory available for North American shoppers in January.

As of this moment, the Transformer Prime may no longer be the only quad-core Android tablet available starting next year. In fact, reports are coming in that a number of companies including Acer and Lenovo are expected to launch tablets with NVIDIA Tegra 3 chips early next year.
