Asus to Limit Eee PC Storage to One Type Per Model

Most of the Eee PC models that Asus have released have options for SSD or HDD storage and lately a hybrid of both. But don’t won’t happen anymore soon. Asus told ZDNet UK that the company will soon be limiting user option for storage to one type per model – that is either an SSD or an HDD.  These changes will be carried out across countries, the Asus spokesperson said.

The reason behind the change in policy was said to be that Asus wants to give its customers a cleaner product line. And their option for storage would be highly influenced by what the users want in a given country.

Although Asus will still continue to manufacture Eee PCs which would have both the SSD and HDD storage options but this will be limited to either SSD or HDD for one country.

Generally Asus will be having the SSD for their high-end Eee PC models and the HDD for the mainstream models.

So, if you were to choose the storage for your netbook, would you want to have an SSD or HDD?
