The Acer Aspire One has proved to be a great success since it’s launch. It’s currently ranked as the best selling notebook on Amazon.com with the ASUS Eee PC 1000H in second place.

ASUS are releasing a new netbook which is said to rival the Acer Aspire One. Amazon are taking pre-orders for the Asus Eee PC 1000HA in Fine Ebony and Pearl White. As of yet there is no release date but specifications and a price are listed.

Overall the specs are pretty much the same as the Acer Aspire One with 1GB RAM, 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 160GB hard drive, 6-cell battery and Windows XP installed. The 1000HA will feature a 10 inch display rather than an 8.9 inch display though and will retail for $30 more at $429.99.

eh?? But whats the difference between 1000HA and 1000H? Fine Ebony and Pearl White Justifies for a new model?

  2. ‘‘The 1000HA will feature a 10 inch display rather than an 8.9 inch display though’’

I think they mean that Acer Aspire One have a 8.9 inch screen.

The differance from 1000H is missing bluetooth and 11n, but bigger HDD and lower price.

  3. The 1000H I have is not missing bluetooth or 11n, and has the same exact HDD size. The 1000HA is exactly like the 1000H, the A is added only to signify it’s the 1000 with the atom processor, rather than the 1000HD which which has the D for the Dothan core Celeron.

  4. Maybe he meant 1000HA comes without BT and 11n? If it doesnt come with HSDA will it stll be a NETbook? lol

  5. Yes I meant that 1000HA have bigger HDD (160GB) and no 11n and no bluetooth (but this I am not sure about, some sites says it have BT and some says it doesnt)

  7. So, precisely why is the Aspire One rivalled more by the 1000HA than the 1000H? I’m confused…

  9. When will it (1000HA) be available? When amazon says “has not yet been released”, does it mean it’s going to be released within a month, or…?

http://www.obsidian-online.com has the 1000H with 160GB hard drive for $439! Why get the HA?

Does anyone know if the new Asus 1000HA comes with a glossy screen….

I got 1000H for $420, and ZipZoomFly had it for $410.
With BT and WiFi N, 80GB, but 80GB price is $5 more than 160GB.
    So 1000HA sucked!!

  13. http://www.obsidian-online.com seems to be sold out of the 1000H.

They do have a new deal on the 1000HA for $415+free shipping. I think I’ll give them a shot..

I called ASUS tech support about he 160GB RPM speed as I could not find it anywhere on the internet. I was told it was only 1000RPM. That seems VERY slow. I was considering a purchase, but this compares very unfavorably with the competitors 5400 rpm. I guess that is why ASUS does not put that info out in the specifications

After posting the ASUS tech support HD spped I found a review that stated the spped is 5400rpm (more like it). Itwas an excellent review and you can see at http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4655

  17. clyde.. the link you provided: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4655 has a good review. but do you know if this a PATA HDD or a SATA version?
