Asus to Release the Eee PC 1000H-X in Japan with MS Office
Posted in: 10-inch, Eee PC 1000H, NetbookNow, that most newest generation of the Eee PCs have enough hard disk to install anything within its storage capacity, it is but the right time to release a new model with MS Office. This is what Asustek is about to do in Japan, where it will be releasing the Eee PC 1000H-X pre-loaded with Microsoft Office Personal 2007.
This new Eee PC will go up against the Aspire One that Acer is bent on releasing on Friday, which is also loaded with the same Office suite. The only difference between the two rival netbooks are their prices. The Eee PC 1000H-X will cost around $616.78 while the Aspire will cost slightly higher.
The Eee PC 1000H-X will have a 10-inch wide-screen display and a 160GB HDD which would be enough to contain Office Suite.
Would that price range, I wonder if consumers who turn to netbook buying to save on expenses, will still find the Eee PC 1000H-X appealing?
Is Asus preparing to pit its netbooks against regular notebooks? And would it succeed? That will be interesting to find out.

That would be a good deal if you are getting a netbook for business use.
One thing I was always wandering is why computer makers (and especially netbook makers, where inexpensive is a main part of te concept) don’t include Openoffice and other open source programs in their Windows machines. It would be a very cheap way to increase the usefulness of their machines. Is it part of some Microsoft deal? And is Microsoft allowed to make such deals?
