Asus Transformer Prime Users Face Android 4.0 Firmware Update Issues
Contrary to what most Transformer Prime users expected, the Android 4.0 ICS firmware update didn’t go out very well as it should have for all TF201 users. There are reports that a “Serial Number – Unknown” issue is preventing the users from installing Ice Cream Sandwich on their tablets.
Quite a number of users have reported on these type of issues since the update began to roll out, some of them started a thread on the XDA Developers forums to complain about the problems faced.
In an attempt to resolve the problem, Asus’ Gary Key has posted a workaround that involves resetting the tablet back to its factory settings. However, this doesn’t seem to work for all affected users.
Asus hasn’t published any official statement on the Android 4.0 ICS upgrade issues, as they are uncertain of a sure fix for the problem.
In addition to the Android 4.0 upgrade problems, Asus has also confirmed that some users may experience a “Random Lockup or Screen Corruption” problem after the new software is installed. Right now, the company is working on a fix for the issue.
