Asus Ultrabook Line Now Known as Zenbook

Asus is now introducing its ultrabook line as ” Zenbooks”. The UX21 and UX31 belongs to the zenbook family and will go on for sale at the price of $999 and up on the 12th of October. The Zenbook line comes in 5 different variants. Two are 11.6-inchers and the other three boast 13.3 inch screens.

This will be the first notebooks that will launch as part of the Intel ultrabook initiative. The specs are as follows: SSD storage, 4GB of RAM, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, 4.0 and 0.3MP webcams. This laptop will feature 1 USB 2.0 port and a USB 3.0 port, an audio jack, microHDMI, xmini VGA port. These ultra-thin laptops run on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. All of these zenbooks have an Intel GMA 3000 HD graphics.

According to Asus, these laptops resume from sleep within two seconds. The laptops also automatically backup data to the SSD as soon as the battery is on critical levels.

Also, the zenbook line features the latest version of Asus Super Hybrid Engine technology. This tech allows the CPU speed and other settings adjust to what the user needs in certain situations. The laptops are also 0.11 inch thin and has metallic finishes. There is a 13.3 inch model that features high res of 1600×900 pixel display. Asus is probably the only PC manufacturer that’s making an 11.6 inch ultrabook model.

All five models should be available starting October 12th. Acer’s Aspire S3 ultrabook is also expected to go on sale this week. That laptop has a 13.3 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display. an Intel Core i5-2467M processor, and an $899 price tag.
