Asustek confirms launch of the Atom-powered Eee PC 901 in June

It’s official, Asustek is releasing the Atom powered Eee PC 901 sometime in June. Actually, we may already know that. What is interesting is the statement from Asustek saying that they will remove the ASUS logo and replace it with the Eee PC logo on the lower part of the Eee PC 901′s lid and another one on the bottom of the display. This confirms the leaked photos published by Blogeee yesterday.

Asustek is also prepping up the new Eee PC 901 with more features apparently to compete with its competitors. Looks to me that Asustek may have been threatened by the MSI Wind and the HP Mini Note.

Another confirmed feature of the Eee PC 901 is the Bluetooth module, a feature that Eee PC fanatics have been clamoring for a long time now. Asustek will also add metal alloy parts to the keyboard and hinge while the touch pad will have a metallic border which also confirms the Blogeee pictures.

The Linux version of the Eee PC 901 will also have more software applications according to Asustek. And the most important information of all, Asustek will release the Eee PC 901 for less than $650.
