With the continued success of Asustek’s netbook  products are getting from consumers, it is not surprising that Asustek dreams of bigger things for their Eee PC products. Next up on Asustek’s plan for the Eee PC, as we learned from Digitimes, is a touch screen panel aside from a dual core Atom-based netbook. These new models are targerted for a first quarter release in 2009.

Although, there are no concrete plans yet on how the company is going to make this happen, Asustek believes that a touchscreen-capable Eee PC would help boost sales of the Eee PC some more. The company is expected to unveil the new product during the CES 2009. That gives us enough reason to get excited about this event next.

In addition, Asustek is also set to release a new Eee PC model that would carry an introductory price of around $307 only. This model will also come out in 2009.

Asustek is set to revolutionize the netbook market yet again with plans of launching a touch panel Eee PC.

So, we will definitely be hearing more about the Eee PC netbook until next year then. Goodies!

  1. Hopefully it happens, should be cheaper than adding it in afterward and avoids voiding the warranty. Dual core + touchscreen would be awesome.
