If you can’t wait anymore for the Windows XP-powered Asus Eee PC, you can do your own installation instead. Just Google for instructions on installing the XP on the Asus Eee PC. There are many published instructions and how to’s  by expert hackers and modders available on the web.

When you have succesfully installed Windows XP on your Eee PC and found out that you only have few MB left of the SSD flash drive, don’t be alarm. There might be some hidden application utilizing your hard drive. To find out what are these hidden files and applications, do a disk usage audit of your hard drive.

To do the disk usage audit, download and install WinDirStat. It will show you the actual usage in the disk by folders. From there you can get rid of  hidden files and free your Asus Eee PC’s hard drive of some much need space to run XP faster.  Goodluck!

  1. That’s the problem when they try to make things smaller. The storage capacity also becomes smaller. I hope they will be able to come up with a memory chip that can store up to 40 gigs so that these mini laptops can be used the same way regular sized laptops are used.
