Following on from rumors circulating yesterday, more rumors are now abound that Samsung’s next generation tablet will indeed sport a display larger than 10 inches. Rumors are pointing to Samsung releasing an Android powered tablet with an 11.6 inch display.

German site Tabtech suggests that the tablet will be unveiled at MWC 2012 and design wise, it features a narrow frame which will make it only slightly larger than the Galaxy Tab 10.1 already available from Samsung. Yesterday the claims came from an Android and Me reported who spotted the prototype at CES and snapped some photos of it, before promptly being asked to delete them by Samsung representatives.

Both sources cite that the 11.6 inch Samsung Galaxy tablet will have a resolution of 2560×1600 and a 2GHz dual core Exynos 5250 processor along with Android 4.0 preinstalled. The tablet is also rumored to come with a Smart Pen stylus like that found on the 5 inch Samsung Galaxy Note.

HTC’s first entry into the tablet market came in the form of the HTC Flyer. Unfortunately many considered it overpriced, with the 16GB Wifi only model being sold for £479 and the 32GB model, with 3G available at a staggering £599.99.

Slowly though, the price has come down and the latest pricing means you can pick up the 16GB version for just £199 and the 32GB model for £249. UK retailer group Dixons have reduced the price of both versions of the tablet but, only online. The tablet can be bought from Dixons, PC World or Currys online. The instore price remains at £379.99.

Currys and PC World have released an app onto the Android Market and Apple App Store for Christmas, aptly named “Xmas Deals”. The app is basically an advent calendar which offers users different deals each day. Behind today’s door is a £50 discount on Sony’s first tablet, the Sony Tablet S. The tablet has already received a £50 price drop taking it down to £349 and for a couple of days, you can purchase it for £299 in store at either PC World or Currys.

You will need to download the application to your phone today to open today’s deal and then store the deal to your phone. You have until Monday to make the purchase though. You can use the collect at store service to see which of your local stores have the Tablet S in stock. Once in store and making the purchase, show them your phone and the stored deal and it’s discount barcode to get £50 off the purchase price.

We recently reported that the price of the BlackBerry PlayBook had been reduced in Canada by $300 CA but, only temporarily. Now RIM’s tablet is available in the UK at a reduced price.

PC World and Currys have slashed £150 off the price of PlayBook and it applies to all storage options. The 16GB version is now available for £249 instead of £399, where as the 32GB version is available for £329 and the 64GB model is priced at £409.

Like in Canada, the offer is only available for a limited time but, those in the UK will have longer to take advantage of this offer. The special promotional price will expire at the end of the year, December 31st.

It seems that RIM can’t sell enough of their tablet, the BlackBerry Playbook. We recently saw that RIM were offering the Playbook on a buy two get one free deal for business customers. Now the general public can also get a great deal on RIM’s BlackBerry Playbook. In Canada anyway and only temporarily.

In Quebec you can get the Playbook at a reduced price until November 22nd, while the rest of Canada has until November 24th to take advantage of this offer. Through BestBuy, Walmart, Future Shop and Staples you can get $300 off the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB model making them $199.99, $299.99 and $399.99 respectively.

Adobe have unveiled several Touch Apps. The line up includes Adobe Photoshop Touch which brings core Photoshop features to your Android tablet. The Adobe Touch products are available to Android powered tablets exclusively. They are only compatible with Android 3.1 powered tablets however.

Adobe Photoshop Touch is available on the Android Market now for £6.99 along with Adobe Proto, Adobe Collage, Adobe Debut, Adobe Kuler and Adobe Ideas.

If you bought your HP TouchPad before the recent price drop, then it’s likely you paid around £400 instead of £89. Which, for anyone who bought one just days before the price drop would be gutted. Fortunately though, HP have a refund program for those who purchased the TouchPad before the discontinuation announcement was made and activated before August 23rd August – which does mean bad luck to those who purchased from retailers after the announcement, expecting a refund once they adjusted the price to £89.

HP have said that “At HP we always think about you! The HP refund program is our way saying thank you for choosing HP webOS.” So if you bought and activated your HP TouchPad before August 23rd, here’s what you’re entitled to:

HP TouchPad 16GB – whatever you paid less £89
HP TouchPad 32GB – whatever you paid less £115
HP TouchPad 64GB – whatever you paid less £159
HP Pre 3 – whatever you paid less £69

This is only available in the UK and Northern Ireland and isn’t available to employees who used the employee purchasing program to buy theirs. Head on over to the HP refund program to get your refund, you’ll need a scanned invoice of your purchase, the serial number and your personal details.

Vodafone recently announced that they would be releasing an Android Tablet in Germany. Vodafone UK have now confirmed that the UK too will get the Vodafone Smart Tab. Available in 7 and 10 inch flavours, both models have a screen resolution of 1280×800, a Qualcomm 1.2GHz dual core processor, a front and back camera coming in at 5 megapixels and 2 megapixels respectively. The Vodafone Smart Tab will come loaded with Android 3.2.

The tablets will be available with 16GB and 32GB of inbuilt memory, as well as supporting up to 32GB micro SD cards. Vodafone Germany have said the tablets are expected to launch in November and the UK shouldn’t be too far behind as Vodafone have confirmed they will be on sale before the end of the year.

Pricing isn’t currently known but, Vodafone have said these tablets will only be available to business customers, which is a shame.

The Acer Iconia A100 has finally been released in Europe and pricing comes in at under £300. In the UK, online retailer Pixmania has the 7 inch tablet available to buy for £259 including VAT. Shipping with Pixmania however isn’t free and starts at £9.40, making the tablet £268.40 with delivery within 2-3 days.

The Acer Iconia A100 features a 7 inch touch screen with a resolution of 1024×600 and a Tegra 2 250 dual core processor. Acer have loaded Android 3.0 onto the tablet. The A100 also has 8GB of internal storage.
