Bump your Intel GMA 950 netbook to 1182 x 854 resolution

I know some of you out there have a wish that your netbook supported a higher resolution. Maybe it’s because you need more screen real estate for your spreadsheet or want to view big images without scrolling. Or maybe you have that one game that you want to play and your netbook specs can handle except for that 1024 x 600 resolution limit.

Well our friends at Samsung feel for you and they have released a driver update for Diamondville laptops with Intel GMA 950 that run on Windows 7 to increase the maximum resolution to 1152 x 864. Here’s the driver for that. Some pixels might be squished but if you like what you see, it looks like there are no performance hits observable for this upgrade.

Take note that it might not work on your specific model but it was tested on the Samsung N140. Make sure to have a backup driver ready in case it doesn’t work out.
