So, Asus decided to stick to the Eee PC branding for its newest netbook release, the Eee PC S101. The Eee PC S101 will be available in three color design - Brown, Champagne or Graphite. It’s hinges are adorned with crystal, it sports a premium infusion finish, making the Eee PC S101 geared for the style conscious users.
The Eee PC S101 will be available in 3 versions; a 16GB SSD model with Windows XP. It will also comes pack with an additional 16GB SD card. This model will retail for around $699. The second version comes with a 32 GB SSD with Linux OS and will retail for around $699 as well. And lastly, the 64GB SSD model with Linux which will have a price tag of around $799.
Feature-wise the Eee PC S101 carries almost the same features as the other 10-inch Eee PC models. Except for the 20GB online storage that comes with every unit. What Laptop have been leaked information that the Samsung NC10 will in fact be cheaper than it was expected to be when it comes to the UK this month. They have also posted up a spec sheet (pictured below) with details of the Samsung netbook.
The source has stated that on release the NC10 will cost £299 rather than the anticipated £329. In addition the netbook specs have changed, with a 160GB hard drive replacing the 80GB that was expected to be fitted in the NC10. Put the reduction in price together with double the size of hard drive for the same price, a choice of three colors (blue, white and black) and a non-gloss 10.2 inch screen and Samsung could have a huge hit on their hands with their NC10 netbook.

If you haven’t joined the netbook bandwagon yet, then you’re in luck or should we say, would be in luck? That is if the market trend in Taiwan spills over internationally, as Digitimes is reporting that netbook vendors are starting to clear their inventory by reducing the prices of their netbooks. These vendors are in rush to free up their netbooks before the year ends.
Except for MSI which could not reduce the price of its Wind netbook, Asus, Acer and HP have all brought down the prices of their netbooks.
Asustek Taiwan has already reduced the price of their oldest Eee PC, the 701 to around $249. It is also planning to reduce the prices of the Eee PC 1000 Linux version to around $530 from $624 and the Eee PC 1000H will get a price reduction of around $31. The Eee PC 901 Linux version will also get a price reduction from around $530 to around $468.
Similarly, Acer has also brought down the price of the Aspire One from around $524 to around $483. HP for its part has reduced the price of its 2133 Mini-Note Linux version from $558 to around $496
Digitimes also reported that more netbook price cut reduction will happen before the year ends.
So, you just might want to hold off your plan of buying a netbook now and wait till this market trend reaches the international market too.

Blogeee have acquired some superb hi-res images of the NC10 by Samsung that show the netbook in it’s full glory. More details on the NC10 have also emerged.
The NC10 netbook weighs in at 1.33kg, uses the Atom processor, has a 1.3MP camera, a 10.2 inch screen, 1GB of RAM HD audio, an 80GB hard drive, an 84 key keyboard and is able to support an external display up to 85Hz and 2048 x 1536 resolution. As for the size of the Samsung NC10: 261mm x 185mm x 30mm or about 10.3″ x 7.3″ x 1.2″.
This is certainly an impressive netbook as the pictures show and with it’s innovative keyboard design which has been slated as possibly the best keyboard design ever for a netbook, the NC10 could go far and possibly will.

Last month we told you about the Sylvania G Magni Netbook which was planned for an August release. Well, it looks like the 10-inch netbook will be hitting store shelves probably just in time for Christmas.
Laptopmag managed to get an interview with Paul Goldenberg, Managing Partner of Digital Gadgets and confirmed that the G Magni Netbook will pushed through.
The Sylvania G Magni Netbook will have the following features:
- Intel Atom Processor
- 10-inch screen
- 1GB RAM
- 120GB HDD
- Windows XP or Ubuntu OS
If you’re wondering why the G Magni Netbook looks familiar, that’s because it’s another rebranded netbook from Sylvania G. And yes, it’s the MSI Wind U100. That is of course with permission from MSI.
Sylvania previously rebranded the 7-inch Everex Cloudbook with its Netbook G. And then the 8.9-inch Sylvania G Messo.

Crave have managed to get their hands on a selection of exclusive photographs of the ever-so swanky Eee PC ‘Ultimate’ S101 and the pictures are intriguing.
Asus made the change with this new model, from the ‘usual’ Eee design of plain plastic exterior, to a sleek, brown (yes, brown, not the first colour that comes to mind when I think of a netbook but, brown it is), shiny netbook with an Atom CPU, 2gb of RAM and either a 32gb or 64 gb solid state drive. This new Eee PC will be pre-installed with Windows XP and seems to come with a 10.2 LED screen, although this isn’t confirmed. The cost of the new Eee PC is unconfirmed too but, it has been rumoured that a 32GB model will be roughly $699 and a 64GB model will set you back a not so cheap $899.
