Laptopmag took the Nokia Booklet 3G for a spin and found that although the said netbook looks great from the top to the bottom, it’s performance doesn’t live up to its great design.

The Nokia Booklet 3G boast of a MacBook-like design with an aluminum-covered body. The only problem that you’d probably find with the netbook’s design is its cheap plastic keyboard. Other than this, the netbook will surely please users who are looking for a great looking netbook.

Laptopmag’s final verdict? While there might be some issues with the performance of the Nokia Booklet 3G, the bottomline is that the netbook’s design and form factor might win you over plus the fact that it is 3G-enabled and can give out 8 hours of battery life.

But then again, you must also consider that there are other netbooks available with equal if not better specs than the Nokia Booklet 3G which is currently sold at $299.

Check out Laptopmag’s full review of the Nokia Booklet 3G here.

Let’s see – 2GB of RAM, 250GB of HDD, a slower Intel Atom Z520 CPU and GMA graphics – then Windows 7 for OS, and you have a brand new Eee PC.

The Eee PC 1101HA-WP’s battery life suffered a bit, down from 11 hours to 8 hours now.

As for the other features, it practically is the same netbook as the Eee PC 1101HA.

The Eee PC 1101HA-WP will be available in Japan on the 14th and will set you back for around $410. It will don either a black or white casing.

Brad of Liliputing has taken the time to test an updated version of the Acer Aspire 1410 and has concluded that the new dual core version is more deserving of your money than the original single core version. The new Acer Aspire 1410 comes with a 1.2GHz Intel Celeron SU2300 processor instead of the old 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500. The result is that it’s better at some things like video and audio encoding, HD video streaming, and general computing tasks which can take up to three times longer or won’t work at all on most other netbooks. And while it also has an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, and a 6-cell battery, it will only set you back $399 a piece. Smell like a good deal to you? It sure does to me. Check out the link below to read the full Acer Aspire 1410 dual core version review.

With the Holiday season just around the corner, expect PC manufacturers to rush on their new netbooks in time for the start of the holiday shopping season.

Acer for one is already preparing its Christmas netbook offering, and Acer certainly got loads of them in store for all of us. Blogeee listed these Acer netbooks as follow:

Next is the Aspire One D250_0DK_W7616 with almost the same spec as the previous Aspire One but this time with Windows 7 and 6-cell battery. Price goes up to 299 €.

Another Acer netbook to watch out for is the Aspire One 531h-ODK_W725 with almost same spec as the D250_0DK_W7616 but this time with a bump up storage of 250GB and 2 SDHC card reader plus Bluetooth 2.0. Price is bumped up to 329 €.

Last, we have the Aspire On 751h-52BK_XP616. This netbook has an Intel Atom Z520 CPU, 6-cell battery with 7 hours battery life and Windows XP Home. It will sell for 349€.

So which one of these Acer netbooks are you keen on getting?

It looks like Lenovo is up to something good come January 5th 2010. The rumored Thinkpad X200e netbook was sort of confirmed but it will be called the Thinkpad X100e first. Since this will be the entry level for this new series of Thinkpad netbook, the X200e might actually come true later on.

Exactly how this Thinkpad will look like and what will its specs be still remain unknown. But there are a lot of speculations and rumors. Obviously or should I say the Thinkpad should use Windows 7. Otherwise, what’s the point of coming out with a new netbook if it won’t run Windows 7, right?

If it runs Windows 7, therefore the this netbook will have larger screen, but not beyond 12-inch most definitely. Likewise, its RAM should be more than 1GB as well as more than 160GB HDD.

As for the processor, the Thinkpad X100e will most likely get an Intel CULV or AMD Athlon Neo.

We’ve even gathered the complete specs of this unannounced Eee PC. But since then we’ve not heard anything about it anymore, until now. Electricpig is reporting that the Eee PC 1201N is about to hit UK stores in December.

So what makes this Eee PC extra special? Of course the NVIDIA ION graphics render it capable of trotting out HD video. The Eee PC 1201N is also listed now at the Asus support site, another indication that it is indeed coming to us soon.

And the official specs of the Eee PC 1201N are now as follow – NVIDIA Ion chipset, HDMI, Windows 7, 320GB HDD, 3GB of RAM and Intel Atom N330 processor.

Price? It will go for around 510 EURO.

The integrated graphics which most netbooks come out with are pretty unimpressive, especially considering that their full-size counterparts (read: laptops) that are getting released these days tend to have some sort of dedicated graphics of their own. But in some instances, Intel’s GMA graphics chipset is able to hold its own when it comes to games and HD video, and this was proven in a recent demonstration at a Mobile Dev Camp event in Germany.

Pictured above is Quake III running at an average of about 35 FPS on an external monitor while connected to an MSI Wind U115–running Linux! Moblin Linux, that is. Intel’s Atom Z530 processor and GMA 500 graphics work in tandem for this one, and it’s pretty good work indeed. The same netbook was also demoed with other mobile devices playing HD video rather competently. To see the netbook in fragging action, continue reading for a video after the break.

A few days after Windows 7 was released Shen is reporting that Asustek has shifted 30% of its Eee PC netbooks to Windows 7 OS. And he is expecting this to increase by 80% in the first quarter of 2010. He also said that most of these Eee PC’s will be running on Intel Pine Trail-M Platform.

Shen also mentioned something about Asustek’s touchscreen products saying that Asus will be limiting their units into 9 to 11 inch netbook models or the 20-inch and above all-in-one PCs.
