The rather unimposing xpPhone that a company called ITG is currently working on has just gained new features ahead of its (as of yet still unknown) release date. While it’s already known that it will have a 4.8-inch WVGA touchscreen display, AMD Super Mobile CPU and Windows XP pre-installed, ITG is set to offer upgrade options for everyone who orders, which include adding a 5-megapixel camera onboard, a 7-inch touchscreen, and even Windows 7 for an OS. Sounds pretty neat, but only time will tell if a device such as this really clicks with consumers (and not to mention our wallets). If pricing and release info come out in the next week or two, we’ll let you know.

Just when you thought you could forget about the RAmos W7 tablet, here comes a hands-on session in the form of a video. It doesn’t tell us anything new about the said tablet, though it shows just how fine Android looks on a 4.8-inch 800×480 touchscreen display and sort of confirms the use of a 600MHz “Rockchip” processor on the device. The video shows the RAmos W7 navigating the menus as well as the Web with ease. See the full video for youself after the break.

If you’ve been wanting to have a netbook with 2GB of RAM inside but don’t have the nerves to wreck open your netbook, well you may want to wait until March when Intel finally allows manufacturers to have 2GB of RAM in their netbooks.

Come March 10, the new Intel Atom N470 which is based on the Pine Trail-M two chip platform will now support 2GB capacity RAM. The N270 has a clock speed of 1.83 GHz, enough to be fully supported by the 3GB RAM.

Currently, netbooks are either sporting the Intel Atom N270 and N280 with clock speed of 1.6GHz. A new processor the N450 is scheduled to be released in January 2010. But netbooks with this CPU would still have 1GB of RAM.

Other possible details of new netbooks to come up once the Intel Atom N470 is available include – Moblin Linux OS, storage guidance up to 20 to 32GB SSD drive or 160GB mechanical hard drive. Screen sizes of future netbooks will vary from 7-10.2-inch. The only let down would have to be their battery life which is expected to go down to a mere 4-cell or less.

Price wise, these new netbooks could go from $299 to $349.

If you’re looking to upgrade from XP or Vista on your netbook, or perhaps you already have, then here’s some great news for you. Some netbook makers have already updated the driver download pages to include Windows 7 drivers which should work better than Vista drivers you may be using instead. Most Asus netbooks now have drivers for Windows 7 from their support page.

Other companies have updated their support pages but, not all companies support many netbook models. There is support from Toshiba for the NB205, while Acer are providing Windows 7 drivers for the Aspire One 751 and AOP531h with AOD250 to follow. Dell are listing drivers for the Mini 10v and Mini 10 but not the Inspiron Mini 9 or 12. HP on the other hand have support for discontinued netbooks, such as the HP Mini 2140. They’ve also got support for the 110, 5101 and other models. Lenovo have also updated their support page to include manuals but, no drivers yet. This could change soon though.

The mount supports netbooks from 7 inches to 13, so will fit most netbooks even with an extended battery. It comes with a gooseneck bracket which can be adjusted. It features a strong suction cup which, was also put to the test. The reviewer used both an Asus Eee PC 701 and the Asus Eee PC 1000H which is “one of the heaviest netbooks ever made” on the mount with no problems. Perfect for those who want to use GPS on the netbook in the car.

It may not be too late for everyone’s dream of a $100 netbook, so I guess the SungWorld netbook is a winner as it comes even cheaper than $100. The SungWorld netbook which has a 7-inch display is up for sale for only $73. Yes folks, you read it right. The SungWorld is really that cheap.

But wait, does the netbook suffer from bad performance because it is cheap. Not really especially since its specs are comparable with the Eee PC 701. These specs include – VIA VT8500 ARM processor with 300MHz clock speed, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of Flash Memory, SSD cards up to 16GB, and Wi-Fi.

The SungWorld’s display is measured at 7-inch with 800×480 resolution.

The SungWorld netbook runs Windows CE and comes with a 1800 mAh battery.

Last time we reported on the Skytone Alpha 680 was in April when the expected release date would be around 3 months later. Since then we haven’t heard anything else about the Android powered netbook but, live pictures of the netbook have now surfaced.

The netbook, when it is released will run Android OS, come with 1GB SSD, 128MB of RAM and 533 MHz CPU. The display will be a 7 inch touch screen. Unfortunately, the netbook is described as “not really stable” which means we still won’t be seeing the netbook for a while yet. Until it is released, the live pictures of the netbook can be seen after the jump.
