Asus has publicized that the Transformer Book will be available for purchase in the US starting May 21st – Yes! At last! This is good news since we have waited for nearly a year just after the release of a 13-inch Windows 8 notebook with a detachable tablet portion.

The Asus Transformer Book TX300 is featuring a package to showcase a 13.3-inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS display, an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 Ivy Bridge processor, and 4GB of RAM, a tablet portion of the computer which houses a 128GB solid state disk, a hard drive in the keyboard portion, and an additional 320GB to 500GB of good storage.

If you want an even longer battery life, when the tablet is docked to the keyboard, that’s how you could get it. This is for the reasons that since there are batteries in both the tablet and keyboard.

Price wise, Asus has not done anything yet to unveil the authorized price amount for the 13-inch Transformer Book. However, MacMall is now taking orders for a model with a Core i7 CPU for $1430. Let us just hope that when this launched officially, more stores will service the same and carry a cheaper amount for purchase.

Nokia has been good in phones: strength, design and quality; it doesn’t go far from the word best. Nonetheless, for quite some time, it remained quiet. According to one Intel Executive, notebook prices should soon be hitting $200 but most of those will be come not with the Window 8 operating system. Also, Intel CEO Paul Otellini stated that touch screen PCs could debut at prices as low as $200 in the next coming months. No operating system has been specified to come by with such PCs.

However, Intel Executive Vice President and Chief product officer Dadi Perlmutter told CNET that notebooks priced at the $200 level will predominantly be Android products running on Intel’s Atom mobile processor. Whether Windows 8 PCs hit that price largely depends on Microsoft, to wit: “We have a good technology that enables a very cost-effective price point. The price of Windows 8 laptops depends on how Microsoft prices Windows 8. It may be a slightly higher price point.”

No specifications as to what these Android notebooks will appear to be like but probability shows that they will be hybrids; that is, convertible-type devices. Also part of Perlmutter’s notations is his expectation that the PC market to pick up in the back half of the year and heading into 2014 as new devices become available.

Moreover, Perlmutter provided that the Intel will ship data-only multimode LTE processors by mid-year and multimode voice over LTE and data processors later in 2013. Recently, Intel only offers a single-mode LTE chip, which limits the processor’s addressable market.

Well, as what analyst says, budget and/or affordability of devices should go with the quality it can offer. It takes two to tango up to success.
