We really don’t know if it’s intentional on the part of Taiwan-based manufacturer Albatron to name its newest product, a Tablet PC into “Tee PC”. This Tablet PC was first introduced in Computex 2008, and after several months, it looks like Albatron is ready to unleash their product.

The Albatron Tee PC is your straight-out-of-the-box Tablet PC which packs all the hardware and software that you would need to use it. It even comes with a docking station, well obviously the Tee PC needs it as its not your usual mini-netbook or UMPC. Those who are wishing that Acer would still reduced the price of their Aspire One would be glad to know that Acer has brought down the price of the said netbook to $329 from its previous SRP of $379. Although it’s not quite clear why Acer decided to bring down the price of the Aspire One, it could only point to one thing, it needs to be more competitive and is probably not getting any mileage as against the more popularly priced Eee PC 901 which is currently selling at Amazon for $379.99

For a difference of $50, you’ll get the same specs as the Eee PC 901 - 8.9-inch display, 1.6GHz ATOM processor, 512 MB of RAM, 8GB of Flash Drive and Linux OS. So, if you’re not really an Eee PC fan and looking for just a netbook which you can tout around, the Acer Aspire One would seem to be a better choice. Will this affect the Eee PC 901’s sales? I would like think that it won’t really matter. The interest with the Eee PC 901 has already gone down with the successive release of other Eee PC models. But if ACER is still targetting those who have not bought a netbook by now, chances are they might get those in their sales inventory.

Incidentally, other higher-end models of the Acer Aspire One has also received a price cut. The mid-range Aspire One is now selling for $349 from $399.

If you are the owner of an HP Mini-Note 2133 then you might want to read this news on your netbook.

Despite it’s popularity and good reviews, it seems there could be a problem with the HP. There have been reports of the Mini Note simply going black and not booting back up. The advice being given is that the issue is being caused by a motherboard failure of some kind. Time will tell if the problem is going to effect more than a handful of Mini Note’s, hopefully not.
