Samsung Go Goes to AT&T

Samsung is releasing the Samsung Go again, this time under AT&T’s mobile 3G plan. And to make it even more exciting, the new Samsung Go was upgraded to Windows 7 Starter Edition.

Samsung Go will be available on AT&T starting November 22. And in case you’re interested to get it, be it known that you will have to be tied up to an AT&T service agreement. If you don’t mind at all, the Samsung Go will give you the following key features – 2.8 lbs, pebble-style keyboard, LED-backlit, borderless glass display, 4-cell battery with 4 hours battery life, Intel Atom N270 CPU.

We recently reported that the very popular NC10 by Samsung had been spotted for 299 Euros, down from 375 Euros. This time round, it’s the UK’s turn to see the netbook reduced.

Originally just Argos had the netbook for a lower price at £249.99 compared to £329.99 at Currys and PC World. Now the netbook is available from PC World and Currys for £239.99, even less than Argos. Unfortunately it’s not quite as simply as going in to the store and picking the NC10 up for that price. The companies have put a £70 reduction on the netbook but the other £20 saving, is claimed via redemption from Samsung. Still, if that doesn’t bother you, go ahead and pick the NC10 up from PC World or Currys for £259.99 and get £20 back.

Samsung Touts Netbook with AMOLED Screen!

Fancy a small netbook with ultra-bright screen display? Well, Samsung has one and it is currently being displayed somewhere in the East. This Samsung 7-inch netbook boasts of WSVGA AMOLED screen in 1024×600 pixel resolution display and 16:9 aspect ratio. For its brightness, this netbook wallops a 3000cd/m2 and 1000000:! contrast ration. Considering that those too many zeros, it’s safe to say that this netbook displays graphics pretty well.

Unfortunately there’s not much we could gather about this netbook, aside from the fact that it has a nice-looking keyboard.

Whether this will be available commercially still remains a mystery. In the meantime, enjoy some more high-res photos courtesy of Akihabara News.

The Samsung N130 is already available in the US from both Best Buy and Amazon. Amazon are currently selling the netbook with Windows XP for $362.43 in blue. The Samsung N130 with Windows 7 has now shown up for pre-order but the specifications still refer to Windows XP as the operating system and there’s no image for this model. The page lists the netbook as being available to pre-order for $350.99 making it cheaper than it’s XP counterpart. Another difference among the two listings, is the Windows 7 model is available in pink and not blue. It doesn’t state the release date but, bets are on for October 22nd.

If you’re looking for a new netbook, or still haven’t picked one up, Amazon.De have a great price on the Samsung NC10. The netbook has proved to be very popular with over 1.5 million units shipped and is a top netbook. Last time we saw a price reduction on the NC10 on Amazon.de it was down to 375 Euros, or more for the black model. The netbook can now be found in both white and black on Amazon for 299 Euros including free shipping.

Samsung N310 Goes On Sale in the U.S.

Two major US retailer are now carrying the new Samsung N310 netbook. Best Buy has it for around $329 with free shipping while Amazon.com is making it available for around $351 with free shipping as well. Both retailers are selling the blue model of the Samsung N310.

And here are the official specs of the Samsung N310 in case you are interested in getting this netbook:

  • Intel Atom N270 CPU
  • 10.1 inch (1024×600) display
  • GMA 950 graphics
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 160GB HDD
  • 0.3 webcam
  • Wi-Fi
  • Windows XP
  • 6-cell battery

Either you get this or wait up for the higher end model, the Samsung N140 which is expected to come out at the end of this month.

The Samsung NC10 has proven to be very popular, which is now backed up by shipping numbers. Not surprisingly, the sleek netbook has shipped 1.5 million units worldwide since it’s release 8 months ago. The NC10 features the standard netbook specs, 10.2 inch display, 160GB HDD, 1GB of RAM etc but, at a slightly higher price in the UK. However when browsing the netbook display in my local PC World, the NC10 is still the netbook which stands out above the rest, so it isn’t surprising to see so many units shipped. It would be more interesting to see how many have actually been purchased though. Hopefully this figure will become public soon as well.

Samsung Offers RAM Upgrade for N310

]]> Do you own the Samsung N310 netbook with 1GB of RAM? Do you want to upgrade it to a 2GB RAM capacity? Well you might want to check out with your local netbook dealer and find out if they are offering this RAM upgrade for the Samsung N310.

JKOntheRun reports that Samsung informed him about the deal. That is RAM upgrade from 1GB to 2GB. If Samsung is really offering this upgrade it’s a pretty good deal since the 2GB module normally costs $69.99 and the offer will give it for only $19.99.

Samsung Poised to Become the No.2 Netbook Seller in Europe

]]> Digitimes is reporting that pretty soon Samsung may be overtaking major netbook manufacturers Asustek and HP as the number 2 netbook seller Europe (for now may be, who knows the U.S. market may be the next). If that happens Samsung will be closely trailing behind Acer which is said to be the number 1 netbook seller in Europe today.

Although Samsung has just shipped around 2.15 million netbooks in 2009 globally, 1 million of those units were shipped in Europe alone. This gave Samsung a 5% of the overall netbook market share in Europe. This also places Samsung at the no.6 overall in the European netbook market.

Now, the possibility of emerging at the number 2 spot depends on whether Samsung could deliver on the expected netbook shipment of around six million units for the rest of 2009 and over 10 million units in 2010. If that happens, it can finally reclaim the number 2 spot from Asus.

And mind you, this is said to be not too far from happening since Samsung has been enjoying a good sales performance in Europe, partly because it has successfully bundled its netbooks with major mobile telecom carrier.
